On November 4, 2023, Julia King and Edward McMullen, Project Leaders for documenting, interpreting and commemorating the history of African Americans, Piscataway and Indigenous peoples of Bryans Road, Indian Head, Pomfret, and Pomonkey met with several local families.

The program has gotten off to a great start with the families sharing their stories and information.  An important aspect of the project is the African American history in association with Mount Aventine.

A follow-up meeting will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the BRSC Community Outreach Center, 3059 Marshall Hall Road, Bryans Road, MD.     Please come out and be part of this historical research and share your family's history.  Please register to be part of this historical event by contacting
